Requiescat In Pace

I woke up this morning to the announcement that Pope Benedict XVI has passed away.  We all knew he was very ill, but this is still a shock to me. Upon hearing of his death today, I wept. Through his Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict has brought many back to the faith. A faith that I had forgotten and thought was lost. On the last day of this year, all is passed and yet nothing is passed at all because Christ wins in the end. I pray for Pope Benedict and the one, holy, Catholic Church.

Merry Christmas 2022

Wishing you a Merry Christmas.  Rejoice, Jesus Christ is born. Thanks for stopping by.

Journey Down Memory Lane: Butterflies 2019

Cutie and Misty received a container of caterpillars this spring and watched them transformed into butterflies. The process itself didn’t take very long but watching it each day seemed like an eternity. It was worth the wait though. We still can’t believe it as we released them into our backyard. Hopefully the butterflies will come back and visit us from time to time.

Journey Down Memory Lane: Yellowstone 2018

Cutie and Misty had a wonderful time at Yellowstone National Park last year. It was their first trip to the park, and it turned out to be a memorable one.  We saw buffaloes as we were driving around the park, not just along the side of the road but on the street as well. (Joke: Why did the buffaloes walked along the street?  A: To get to the other side.  hahahaha!!!) In addition to buffalos, we saw many, many geysers and springs. Of course, we didn’t miss the most well-known of all, Old Faithful and the Grand Prismatic Spring. The park is huge, and we probably missed several other sights, but it’s just another reason to go back again.  What makes Old Faithful so special is that it goes off at approximately the same time each day. Thus, we were able to find a bench and just wait for it to go off. It was a sight to behold when the show finally began. It turned out that the geyser next to Old Faithful stole the show. Misty and Cutie were amused by it all, and it’s something they’ll never
